Flyaway Kids Bed Now Officially Approved for Use on Virgin Atlantic!

We are excited to announce that the Flyaway Kids Bed has been officially approved as a comfort aid on Virgin Atlantic flights! Virgin Atlantic now includes Flyaway Designs’ inflatable children’s bed in their list of permitted comfort aids, making it easier than ever for families to ensure their little ones can rest comfortably on long-haul journeys.

Can I Use Flyaway Kids Bed on Virgin Atlantic?

Yes! You can now use the Flyaway Kids Bed on Virgin Atlantic flights during the cruise portion of the journey. It must be stowed away during take-off and landing, in line with standard airline safety protocols, but once you're in the air, your child can stretch out, relax, and enjoy the comfort of a flat-bed setup.

Virgin Atlantic’s Comfort Aids Policy

Virgin Atlantic's updated policy now recognizes the Flyaway Kids Bed as a permitted comfort aid for children. This makes it one of the few products approved by the airline to help ensure children can sleep or play comfortably on long flights. You can view Virgin Atlantic’s official statement on traveling with children and comfort aids, including the Flyaway Kids Bed, on their website here.

Tips for Using Flyaway Kids Bed on Virgin Atlantic

  • Seat Placement Matters: It’s best to book a window seat or a middle seat in a row of four to maximize space and comfort for your child. It can't be used if the child is in an aisle seat. Must be stowed away for taxi, takeoff and landing, and during turbulence
  • Inform the Airline: We recommend contacting Virgin Atlantic before your flight and adding a note to your booking to inform the cabin crew that you’ll be using the Flyaway Kids Bed. This ensures smooth communication and a hassle-free setup onboard.
  • Plan Ahead: Make sure you pack the Flyaway Kids Bed in your carry-on for easy access, so you can set it up as soon as the seatbelt sign is off.

Approved on 50+ Airlines

Virgin Atlantic’s approval of the Flyaway Kids Bed joins a growing list of over 50 airlines, including British Airways, Delta, and Swiss Airlines, where the product is allowed on board. This opens up even more options for families flying internationally, ensuring children have a comfortable place to sleep on long flights.

Why Flyaway Kids Bed Is a Game-Changer for Families

The Flyaway Kids Bed has revolutionized the way families travel by creating a flat, cushioned surface for kids to rest or play. Its innovative design doesn’t interfere with life vests or emergency equipment under seats, making it not only practical but also compliant with safety standards. Plus, it inflates in just 90 seconds and deflates just as quickly, making it easy to use even on short layovers.
